Yeah...she had to get put too sleep earlier tonight:
[link]She was 16 years old...and a total loony (her name was "China" btw). Lately she stopped eating and ended up only weighing about 10 pounds. After doing blood work it was discovered she had a form of cancer. So rather than having her slowly suffer and died naturally, my mother in law decided to have her put down.
I am sad, but granted I hadn't known the animal long enough to really develop that much of an emotional attachment. Especially since she had long passed that affectionate stage and was now that classic crazy old lady cat we've all seen in our lives with the unpredictable and chaotic behavior. This cat would sleep with her eyes open...which would always dilated for some odd reason (we think she may have gone blind towards the end). I always thought she was trying to kill me, like when she' conveniently be underfoot whenever I was carrying anything heavy, especially up the stairs, choosing that one moment to just streeetch out to cover the full length of the step she had been sleeping on JUST as I passed by. Of course considering she probably didn't even know where she was towards the end I doubt it was intentional...
Ah well...she's in a better place now I'm sure...and hopefully has regained her sense a bit
